Was bedeuten die COVID-19-Maßnahmen für das Personal in Altenpflegeheimen? Vier Studierende des Fachbereichs Oecotrophologie an der Hochschule Niederrhein haben dazu gemeinsam mit ihrer Professorin qualitative Interviews mit Angehörigen unterschiedlicher Professionen geführt. Das Ergebnis zeigt ein außerordentliches Engagement des Personals, für das das Wohlergehen der Bewohnerschaft sehr wichtig ist. Gleichzeitig gibt es in den Häusern Mehrarbeit – neben der Heimleitung vor allem für die Hauswirtschaft. Dazu herrschen teils große Ängste, die vom Qualifikationsstand beeinflusst zu sein scheinen.

Live and work in a nursing home with Corona
What do the COVID-19 measures mean for staff in nursing homes? Four students and their professor from the Faculty of Oecotrophologie at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences conducted qualitative interviews with members of different professions. The results show the extraordinary commitment of the staff, for whom the well-being of the residents is very important. At the same time, there is extra work in the houses – not only for the home management but above all for home economics. In addition, there are some great fears that seem to be influenced by the level of qualification.
