Kurzfassung:
Produkte zur Oberflächen-, Haut- und Handdesinfektion sowie zur Desinfektion von Wäsche werden im Haushalt verstärkt eingesetzt, da Hersteller mit einem hygienisch sauberen Ergebnis werben. Die EU-Verordnung 528/2012 (Biozidverordnung) reguliert den Einsatz von Desinfektionsmitteln. Zu den Risiken zählen die Entstehung von resistenten Bakterien, Kreuzresistenzen gegen Antibiotika, allergische Reaktionen und die Anreicherung von Biozid-Wirkstoffen im menschlichen Körper, in Gewässern und Böden. Obwohl die Anwendung von Bioziden im Haushalt immer häufiger als sichere Methode zur Senkung von Infektionskrankheiten dargestellt wird, kann diese bis heute nicht nachgewiesen werden. Deshalb und aufgrund der zahlreichen, teilweise auch unterschätzten Risiken sollte auf Biozide im Haushalt weitgehend verzichtet werden.

Biocidal products in households – Arguments against the use with regard to the risk for man and environment
Abstract:
Disinfectants for skin, surfaces and clothes are increasingly used in the household as manufacturers promote a hygienic clean home. Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 regulates the use of disinfectants. Risks include the development of resistant bacteria, cross-resistance to antibiotics, allergic reactions, and the accumulation of biocidal active substances in the human body, water and soil. Although the use of biocides in households is increasingly being presented as a safe method of reducing infectious diseases, it is not yet been proven. For this reason and because of the numerous, sometimes underestimated risks these products should be avoided as far as possible.
